Your Words + My Voice = The Sweet Spot
Aural Appetizers
Sound bites to give you a flavor of my vocal style and range.
Writing my memoir was a labor of love. There was screaming, crying, and more than a few “Will someone please get this thing out of me?!”
And then:
“Oooowww—look how beautiful it is.”
Creating the audio version was like parenting a toddler—delightful, exhausting, engaging, frustrating, hilarious, scary, all-consuming, and ultimately…magical.
I learned so much from the experience that I committed to helping other women give voice to their books.
Because it’s not just the technical aspect that matters.
It’s about midwifing the spoken word into the world.
It’s about adding intimacy between an author and their audience—an extra layer of emotional texture.
About ensuring it’s not just words on a page or screen…it’s story come to life.
As an author, I understand the time, effort, energy, emotion, and money you’ve invested in your book. I respect your desire—your insistence—that the narration reflects the voice, tone, and pacing you so carefully crafted.
To enliven and align with the content and characters of your book, I draw on:
A wealth of personalities, vocal qualities, and accents encountered in my travels
Formative years spent in a cosmopolitan boarding house
My background as a personal historian, life coach, and reference librarian
My performance chops—as a storyteller, Toastmaster, and even as “booth babe” for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy—help make your work irresistible (ear-resistible? 😉).
Your audiobook will be recorded and edited using professional software and equipment, and mastered using a custom sound package designed by an Emmy Award–winning sound engineer.
As a bonus, it will be steeped in the energy and heart of the enchanted forest that surrounds my studio. If you’re a woowoo person, you’ll understand the benefit of that.
If you’re not a woowoo sort, don’t let that scare you off. Your listeners won’t know why, but they’ll feel the magic.
Let’s talk about how we can bring an audio dimension to your book!

My granddaughter captured this image of me on a road trip to the largest sunflower field in Pennsylvania. It looks Photoshopped, but it’s not. Makes us snort giggle whenever we look at it!
